| 176 graduates received bachelor of science degrees at 48th Commencement ceremonies on May 14. Festivities were held for the first time off campus on the Harvey S. Mudd Quadrangle north of Honnold Library. The reception afterward was held back on campus.
Receiving honorary doctor of engineering degrees were Trustee E.H. Clark Jr. and President Emeritus Henry E. Riggs. HMC Board Chair R. Michael Shanahan received the Sprague Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service.
